Doniphan Park Project

Doniphan Park Conceptual Layout

The City of Doniphan located in Ripley County is a self-sustaining community located on the Central Plateau in the Ozark Highlands.  Founded on the banks of the Current River, Doniphan has a current population of 1,932 residents.

The City of Doniphan was donated a 21 acre parcel of land in 2007 adjacent to the Doniphan School District campus.  The Doniphan City Council expressed interest in developing this piece of land for recreational and sporting opportunities while complementing the natural resources of this area.  This will be named Quick Creek Park.

In conjunction with the City of Doniphan; the Natural Resources Conservation Service-Big Springs RC&D and South Missouri Water Quality Project Office in Ozark has developed a conceptual design and conservation plan to guide the City of Doniphan in developing Quick Creek Park.  The City is now focused on funding the development with the assistance of Big Springs RC&D, NRCS, & Ozark Foothills Regional Planning Commission.
